EmergencyFocus – Nobody will ever be scared of a CPR

The fear of making a mistake stops many people in providing a cpr to a person with a cardiac arrest. EmergencyFocus distributes internationally AED Proximus® (Patent Pending). It is a headset and a defibrillator connected to the nearest emergency headquarter, in order to ‘virtually’ carry the physician to the scenario.

MILAN – Virtual reality increased its potential and its utilization. Also into medicine. We often talk about defibrillator drones, total diffusion throughout the territory, but we never have spoken of the arrest that each year kills so many people; and it is not the cardiac arrest, but the fear of people in doing something when a person near them suffers a heart attack. Until now, nothing could erase the fear of witnesses in doing something to a person with a cardiac arrest.

Until now, indeed.

EmergencyFocus, a company of Mr. Gianni Innocenti Pausetti, distributes an advanced video  AEDPROXIMUS-577x1024communication system connected real time with 112 and 118 emergency headquarters. With this system, the operator looks at the situation directly through the computer monitor and supports the improvised rescuer in providing maneuvers to save a life, without occupy his or her hands with a phone.

This new system introduced in preview at ERC 2017 (European Resuscitation Council) is an incredible idea with all its simplicity.

EmergencyFocus is already specialized in geolocation and positioning of defibrillators in universal cabinets. The aim of EmergencyFocus is working in each situation and with whichever defibrillator. And from tomorrow on, with the support of every emergency operator.

The innovation of AED Proximus®  telecontrol resides into a headset with a Bluetooth and wi-fi connection which activates a call to the emergency number, from the moment it is pulled out from the cabinet, together with the defibrillator. The localization is immediate, and so it is the activation of the video communication, which guarantees an immediate support. The physician at the headquarter is perfectly skilled to guide the citizen to cardiac resuscitation.

The advantage created from AED Proximus® is incalculable: anybody who opens the cabinet will get automatically a call from the physician through the earphones connected to the defibrillator, and will be ready to provide assistance to the patient thanks to the advices of the physician, who monitors everything through the camera. This will help the citizen in providing the best to save the patient, without hands occupied by the phone.

Moreover, the physician can dispatch advanced support crew, to support the improvised first responder on the scene and be sure that the patient really is suffering of a heart attack.

The AED Proximus® system is compatible with every defibrillator on the market, and it guarantees optimal functionality in each condition. Batteries and the cabinets are supplied in order to assure a 24h efficiency for all the year round, respecting the times of maintenance of AED (which is generally each 4 years).

The cabinet of EmergencyFocus has various sensors, which allow the control of its functioning, also remotely. No problem for cables or blocks. The system is projected to be immediately unhooked from the base of supply. In this way, the first responder or the citizen can save time and act immediately.

A safer territory even without emergencies

The advantage of EmergencyFocus cabinet is the centralization of defibrillators throughout the territory. Always. Thanks to the software of monitoring and of management of AEDs, the cabinets in a determined territory are controlled in case of malfunctioning, opening and use of the defibrillator. Furthermore, it is possible to involve thousands of rescuers standing nearby the scenario, thanks to the first responders app.

This piece of news obtained important appreciations at the ERC 2017. It is one of the first example of virtual support in case of cardiac arrest. A professional who can see what happens during the following few minutes of the cardiac arrest, suggests how to do a good resuscitation and control defibrillator answers in order to better inform the ALS team who is coming. This is at the base of the surviving chain which is fortunately becoming more tight, assuring quick resuscitation and easy defibrillation.
