Lets push ahead with Dr John Hinds campaign to get an Air Ambulance off the ground for Northern Ireland. Let’s make this a Lasting Tribute for an Exceptional Man. #HEMS4NI

2 ott 2015 — Following on from the successful Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for Northern Ireland (HEMS4NI) petition and the commitment from the Minister for Health to an integrated HEMS in NI, the trustees of Air Ambulance Northern Ireland are pleased to announce that it has achieved charitable status and is now registered with the Northern Ireland Charity Commission. The charity has been established to meet the need of a fully integrated Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) throughout Northern Ireland.

Ian Crowe, Chairman, said “he is delighted with the support from HEMS4NI, their campaign to raise public awareness of the benefits of an air ambulance for Northern Ireland has been hugely successful and played a very important role in highlighting the need for Northern Ireland to have an air ambulance.”

Stephen Henderson, HEMS4NI, said “having now had the opportunity to meet with trustees from Air Ambulance Northern Ireland myself and John Allen feel that the change.org petition can now be declared as a ‘success’ and that steps are being made to make this a sustainable service for everyone in Northern Ireland. We must also remember that HEMS affects everyone in Northern Ireland and we welcome the Minsters commitment to support this service and the establishment of the Northern Ireland Trauma Network. Air Ambulance Northern Ireland have been working on delivering a HEMS platform since 2014 and we are pleased to announce that we will support the established charity moving forward.”
