EMT, PARAMEDIC JOB POSITION
SYLVA, NC, UNITED STATES

The Paramedic works with the team to respond, treat, and react quickly and calmly to emergency and non-emergency situations in order to provide efficient and immediate, advanced and basic life support, care to the ill and injured. The Paramedic ensures that during a shift that the assigned unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared to respond to a single or multiple patient incidents. The Paramedic is responsible for their schedule and finding coverage in the event that they are not available to cover a shift. Shift work requires a mixture of day, night, twenty four hour and on call coverage to ensure adequate coverage for the service.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, an equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

Experience and Qualifications:

Current North Carolina Paramedic, National Registry Preferred.
Two years experience as a full time Paramedic is desired.
Life Safety certifications in: BLS, ACLS, PALS/EPC/PEPP are required upon hire and must be maintained. Must attain BTLS/PHTLS/ITLS within 6 months of hire and maintain.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The amount of physical effort remains fluid throughout the shift, but many excursions is consistent. The fixed demands of the job are lifting, securing, and transporting patients to the unit and hospital. To accomplish task an employee is required to twist, bend, walk, run, kneel, and lift. These functions are often accomplished in adverse weather conditions. In addition, this individual must often deal with obese and/or uncooperative in their actions. The duration and weight is dependent on the situation, but employees should be able to lift 100 lbs. and duration of events often lasting greater than one hour per call.

EMT-B, EMT-A, PARAMEDIC

Respond to requests to transport patients to and from appointments ranging from physician’s visits, dialysis, hospital discharges, etc. via ambulance. Provide basic emergency and non-emergency medical care and transportation under the guidelines of approved Company medical protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, and within the EMT scope of practice as defined the State of Indiana Division of EMS. Provide a welcoming, safe and comfortable environment for patients by ensuring patient needs are met during transport. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and through written documentation, as well as effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff. Company will provide hands on training and offers continuing education courses/certification.

Pre-Hospital Consultant Emergency Medicine

Royal Flying Doctor Sevice South Eastern Section
Dubbo (LGA), North Western Region (AU)

 

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) South Eastern Section has opportunities for Emergency Medicine Registrars to join our Dubbo Base for a 12 month period. We have two opportunities for the August 2019 intake. The position of Registrar with RFDS offers a unique and diverse experience with a mix of emergency medical retrievals (primary and interhospital) and emergency medicine.

Based in Dubbo, with rotations to Broken Hill, Registrar’s work 0.5 in Dubbo Emergency Department and 0.5 Retrieval with RFDS concurrently. Both sites are accredited with ACEM (6 months training for Emergency Medicine and 6 months for a Special Skills term in Pre-hospital and Retrieval).

Our standards:

Minimum 5 years post graduate experience
12 months critical care (ED or ICU) and at least 6 months of Anaesthetics experience
Experience in the management of critically ill patients including trauma
Knowledge of ALS, APLS, ATLS (or equivalents) and modern critical care practice
Evidence of competency in procedures relevant to critical care medicine

Desirable:

Pre hospital experience
Experience in regional/rural/remote/telehealth medicine
Obstetric experience
Working in high functioning teams
Australian permanent resident/citizen

You will be well supported with regular medical training and there is tremendous scope to develop your skills as a clinician in a supportive but demanding environment.
