Civil Protection Val D’Enza Radiocommunications announces the arrival of two new operational vehicles on Montecchio (Italy)
The Val d’Enza Radiocommunications Civil Defense Association, established in 2003 as a continuation of the Montecchio Titanic Club Association, is celebrating its 20th birthday with an event of special significance: the official presentation of two new vehicles!
The Association is pleased to present the two operational vehicles and their specific functions of personal transport and mobile radio room. This is a very important milestone, revitalizing the group’s operations in the contexts of ordinary and emergency activities, enhancing the possibilities of intervention compared to those possible until now.
The moment of the ribbon cutting and the toast, will also be an opportunity to thank the companies that have given concrete help, the team of volunteers that has followed the entire project and of course the citizenship that has made it possible with their donations.
The image that accompanies this happy announcement fondly recalls the historic radio hall trailer and mobile office that has followed Val d’Enza Radiocommunications in so many emergencies and exercises until 2019, an iconic figure of the Association’s presence during every Montichiana fair.
The history of the association
The association’s beginnings date back to the 1990s, when a group of willing radio amateurs decided to found the association “Club Titanic – Montecchio delegation,” as a branch office of the Reggio Emilia (Italy) association of the same name.
Thanks to a far-sighted city administration, the association received the area of land where the headquarters still stands today. The first step had been taken.
Thanks to the strong commitment of the founding members and the generosity of numerous donors, in a short time the Titanic Club of Montecchio was equipped with the necessary vehicles and facilities to begin an iron collaboration with local institutions–a collaboration that lasts to this day.
In 2003, the “Titanic Club” of Montecchio became the current Protezione Civile Val d’Enza Radiocomunicazioni ODV, a new reality matured with the same years of experience and a special attention to the importance of radio communications in case of disasters.
