The European Centre for Disaster Medicine (CEMEC), in collaboration with prestigious institutions, announces the launch of the free online course “Forensic Science and Disaster Management” scheduled for February 23, 2024, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. A unique opportunity to delve into the world of forensic medicine applied to disasters, exploring the challenges and methodologies of mass fatality incident management.

The Core of the Course: Forensic Sciences and Disaster Management

The course is divided into a series of sessions covering crucial aspects of emergency management, from initial response to recovery and victim identification. Special attention will be devoted to setting up temporary facilities for autopsies and body examination, crucial in disaster scenarios to ensure dignified treatment of victims and essential support for investigations and rescue efforts.

The Importance of Interdisciplinary Training

The course offers an interdisciplinary perspective, combining the expertise of forensic sciences with emergency response practices. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from top experts in the field, including Prof. Nidhal Haj Salem and Dr. Mohamed Amine Zaara, who will share their firsthand experience in disaster management and victim identification through advanced forensic methods.
