Earlier this year, volunteers working with Ukrainian Red Cross Society faced risk in the service of those in need. In February 2014 and throughout the following months, Red Cross volunteers responded to violence during protests at Maidan Square, Kiev. Over 100 people killed, and many more were injured. Red Cross volunteers provided first aid to anyone in need. Unfortunately, one volunteer was seriously wounded by a gunshot while providing assistance.
