Covid cases among children in the US soar: 94,000 in the first week of August
USA, Covid cases among children are on the rise: the American Academy of Pediatrics is sounding the alarm by reporting that 12,000 new infections were recorded among young children in July
US children at risk from Covid: a surge in registered cases
In the United States, there has been an increase in the number of Covid cases among children under the age of 12, an age group for which coronavirus vaccines have not yet been approved.
The alarm was raised by the American Academy of Paediatrics, which reports that 12 000 new infections were recorded among young children in July, while 94 000 new infections were recorded in the first week of August.
By 14 August, 1 902 children had been admitted to hospital.
