Adults vaccinated in Brazil, close to 100% in São Paulo: city held an event over the weekend to promote vaccination

During the weekend, the city of São Paulo held the event called “Turn around the Vacina Sampa”, in which the entire vaccination network and another 16 posts were made available throughout the night, for the application of immunization against Covid-19 in young people from 18 to 21 years old.

There were more than 500 thousand doses applied in 34 hours, reaching 98.5% of adults vaccinated with the first dose

“It was very right to carry out the ‘Virada da Vacina’.

The balance is very positive and we continue to be very grateful to the population of São Paulo for having joined the vaccination,” said the mayor Ricardo Nunes, in a press release.

Therefore, the Municipal Department of Culture promoted cultural actions, such as the presence of DJs from carnival blocks, in addition to other bands and artists.

The next group to be vaccinated will be teenagers aged 12 to 17 years.

The state of São Paulo also registers more than 90% of the population over 18 years old vaccinated with at least one dose.

In relation to the general population, 69.62% are vaccinated, a number similar to that of the United Kingdom, the first country to officially start vaccinating against Covid-19.

This Tuesday (17), begins a new phase of flexibility of distancing measures in the state, in which commerce and services will be able to operate without restriction of occupation and time and events can happen again, with the adoption of health security measures.
