From the NFL to the Richmond Fire Department: Renard Cox’s turnaround

Firefighter Renard Cox was signed by the Arizona Cardinals in 2000 and played in several leagues, plus one year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, before joining the Richmond Fire Department.

“I love it. I love wearing this uniform every day,” Cox told WTVR.com .

Renard Cox was born in 1978 and spent his career as a professional football player in the role of defensive lineman.

Today he has embraced his second life with great enthusiasm, declaring his vocation as a firefighter.
