Covid in Italy, infections and deaths on the rise: 10,172 new cases of Covid-19 positivity (yesterday there were 7,698) and 72 deaths (yesterday 74) were recorded in Italy in the last 24 hours

Covid in Italy: Ministry of Health bulletin provides figures on infections and deaths

This is what emerges from today’s bulletin of the Ministry of Health. Since the start of the pandemic, 4,883,242 people have been infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus, while the total number of victims since February 2020 is 132,965.

A total of 4,623,192 people have been cured or discharged, while a total of 127,085 people are currently positive, up 3,689 from yesterday (up 2,521 the day before).

Including molecular and antigenic swabs, 537,765 total swabs were taken, 146,945 fewer than the 684,710 swabs taken yesterday.

The positivity rate, yesterday at 1.1%, rises to 1.9% (the approximation is 1.89%).

On the health front, inpatient stays are also growing: there are +90 (yesterday +162), for a total of 4,060 inpatients, the beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards.

On the other hand, the number of beds occupied in intensive care units has increased by 5 (yesterday by 6): the total number of the most serious patients has reached 486, with 39 admissions to intensive care (yesterday 41).
