Italy, fire in Milan: inferno of flames, Firefighters at work

Firefighters at work for a serious fire in Milan: a van, apparently loaded with cylinders, exploded causing the chain fire of other cars and neighboring buildings

Nearby a kindergarten, which was safely evacuated by rescuers.

Hell in Milan, severely engaged firefighters

According to what is learned, a van exploded in via Pier Lombardo at the corner with via Vasari, in the Porta Romana area, triggering domino explosions that currently involve at least 5 vehicles, in addition to some mopeds, at least 4.

Firefighters are arriving at the scene in an attempt to put out the flames.

The carabinieri arrive first.

The area is that of the mysterious baths, and nearby there is a nursery school.

In the confusion of the first aid, it is not yet clear what are the causes of the hellish fire that broke out around noon in Milan.

The only certainty, reported by observers on the spot, is that the fire was triggered by the explosion of a car in the center of the roadway in via Pierlombardo, in the central Porta Romana area.

Impossible for now to know if there are bodies on the ground.

It is conceivable that the car was in transit.

Entirely premature to hypothesize an attack, even if the scenario may evoke it.

The forces of order present en masse on the spot (police, carabinieri, local police) limit themselves to removing people.

The firefighters are evacuating the area between via Vasari and via Pier Lombardo in Porta Romana, private homes and a nursery school, where an inferno of flames broke out around noon.

The fire was triggered, according to “Republic of Milan”, by the explosion of a truck carrying oxygen cylinders.

The Mysterious Baths area is in turn adjacent to the Parenti theater, which is lapped by columns of smoke as seen in the photo.
