Russia: 'Through Time' travelling exhibition on vintage fire-fighting equipment in Ufa

A mobile exhibition of fire-fighting equipment ‘Through Time’ was held in Ufa (Central Russia): residents and guests of the capital of Bashkortostan were able to take a closer look at fire-fighting equipment from different eras

A large part of the equipment on display in Ufa is now only in the history books, and put out devastating fires 100 years ago

Children played with these vintage vehicles, which also became a tool to teach their parents and grandparents some notions of first fire-fighting actions.

However, part of the exhibition was dedicated to their counterparts, i.e. the most technologically advanced and innovative vehicles.

The guests of the exhibition passed tests prepared for them by employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Bashkortostan, together with volunteers.

The young mission participants not only showed everything they were capable of, but also learnt many useful things.

For example, how to prevent problems in the water, at what age a child can swim on its own and how to provide first aid, or how to stack firewood correctly to start a fire without it becoming a hazard to the house.

The culture of prevention, after all, is an integral part of the ‘creed’ of the fire brigade everywhere.
